Miles and Miles of milestones........

If you are a parent then you will remember many milestones within your child's life. I can remember the day both my babies were born (although it helps that they begin reminding me of this day of birth months in advance)and I also remember most of the details of the day they were born. I remember exactly how old they were when they took their first steps. With my first, I remember his first word was, dadadada, much to my dismay, that by the time the second one was born, I learned how to fix that where her first word would be Moma. As many of you probably know it is just much easier for a baby to click their tongue to the roof of their mouth and babble dadadadadada.....but with the second one, I followed her around all day determined.....say mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmama....say mmmmmmmmmmama.....I won...she said Moma. See determination pays off.....because even to this very day, 15 years later she has that word down....MOMA,MOMA....Wow why did I think that was a good idea?
Through the years we have encountered many milestones in the lives of our children which brings me to the most recent...The baby is driving!!!!!!! wow!!! Now she uses that word I taught her many years ago (Moma) followed by "can I drive to the store, to walmart, to the school, to the mall, to wherever..?" We finally got our permit, the last child to get this great honor and the last child I will go through the "learning to drive"experience with. Kinda sad, huh?...well I have to say I have enjoyed being chauffered around on many pointless errands and trips and we get to experience this with the baby for a whole year...(thanks to the new driving laws...)But...there is always a bright side...I am enjoying these bonding moments with my baby again. Anyone that has ever had a teenager live in their house knows that bonding moments are few and far between...and this Moma wants as many as I can get before I blink my eyes and this baby is gone on to the next milestone..........

The House That Built Me

I love, love this song!!! The House that Built me by Miranda Lambert! This song brings so much to mind. It takes me back to the days of my childhood and makes me reflect on my wonderful family! Sometimes when we look back at our childhood we seem to remember some of the things that we have tried to forget, but when I think back, I remember many good times! I can remember summers filled with sitting outside till all hours of the night while the parents and the aunts and uncles talked and talked about grown up stuff...and us kids would sit and try to hear all the grown-up talk and they would shoo us away to go play..oh looking back these were such good days. I remember summer vacations where my daddy would pack us in a car or camper with the windows rolled down and we would travel at night (because traffic was better) and I could sleep so good in that old car with the windows down. (Whatever happened to that?) I remember days and nights filled with family over and moma playing the piano and everybody singing good ole gospel songs. I remember going to church and learning about Jesus and singing from a hymn book...(which I miss...btw) All these care-free days that can never be replaced makes me sad that my own children did not grow up in the same way that I did with lots of extended family around all of the time...I know my Moma and Daddy would say that it was hard raising 4 kids because money was always tight...but one thing about it we never knew it...and looking back I can remember all the wonderful memories and be forever thankful for the HOUSE THAT BUILT ME!!!

Tan lines, wrinkles and belly rolls

Well this week has been wonderful! Full of fun! Me and my BFF or love ya like a sista friend from long ago had several fun filled days together. We shared wonderful memories from our childhood that only the two of us would remember or even understand. This has me thinking, (uh-o)...Friends come and go in our lifetime and I know that some are here for a season just to get us through something that we need that person for at the time. But the truly best friends are the ones like I was able to reconnect with this past year. We never really lost touch but I guess you could say we were disconnected for quite a few years. The magical thing about a friend like this is you pick right back up where you left off. She knows me better possibly than anybody else....because she knows me as a child, teen, and then adult....not to many friends like that! New friends are always great but I realized this week that those new friends never really get to know you quite as well as the life long ones..those are the ones that you meet as a child when you are less intimidated and share everything with them...those are the ones that can never be replaced.

Well we spent one day in the sun for old times sake, and because we both still love getting our tan on....& guess what...neither one of us cared what the other looked like...i think she is gorgeous with tan lines, wrinkles (although she really dont have many) and belly rolls...( and she dont have many of them either) and we had the best, most unintimidated day and at the end we realized that we are pretty well preserved afterall (thanks davey)..just like our friendship!!!!

Loving Life!!

Well here I am! I am loving life! I have always wanted to be a blogger, because I have secretly always wanted to write! I chose my title of my blog because it is those things that just represent me the best. I really put alot of thought into it, so I hope everyone really appreciates my hard work!!! (ha)
On the serious side, my faith, family and friends...the three Fs ...I will call them...are very important to me. Faith is what gets me up in the morning, that and the fact I have to work and I have kids......but faith is a very important part of my life...without it I would not be where I am today! (which is writing this boring blog...)
My family means the world to me! I have a great husband, wonderful kids and all that other stuff that people say when they are talking about their family.....seriously!! Love them with all my heart and am truly thankful for them everyday!
My friends........what can I say...they are a great mix of different kinds of people and I am grateful for each and everyone of them!!! I have a few that have been around the block a time or two with me and a few that have just began the journey....

Til next time.........
Remember the 3 Fs are the most important............seriously!!!
